View from the top of Mt.Agad-agad |
Mt. Agad-Agad is located at Brgy Pugaan, Iligan City Lanao del Sur Philippines. It is a favorite hiking place of hikers, adventurous people and students as well. It is few kilometers away from the City and will cost less than 20 pesos for one person if he/she rides a jeep from the city. The hike to the peak will take an hour if one walks briskly but for an average walk it will consume up to 2 hours depending on the speed and delays. It is advisable for the hiker to bring water to quench his/her thirst during the hike, less than one liter of water is sufficient. You can also bring another form of drinks such as energy drinks. The hiker should be early, this is to avoid the harmful heat from the sun. 5:30 to 7 am is the ideal time, however, if the hiker is planning to stay overnight he could go at afternoon and not forgetting to bring the necessary equipments such as tent(portable and light) flashlight and food. The hiker could bring some food but not too heavy to bring, just a small amount, enough to restore the energy after a long walk. It is also advisable to apply sunblock especially from the months of summer because the sun will be harsh throughout the way.
The road halfway to the top |
The travel will be exhausting. Going up to the height of almost 1,600 m above sea level is surely tiring, not to mention the rocky, sandy and slippery road due to leaves and dusts.
when you see this marking (picture above) you may want to smile because you are almost on top, just a few meters away.
this what will surprise you, a majestic view of the city |
Finally, when the hiker reaches the top all his/her sweats and exhaustion will be paid off and vanish upon seeing the beautiful view. In the pictures the view may not look very clear because of pollution and heat coming from the sun but in reality the view is spectacular. You can view the city from the top, as if, you are looking to a painting, you may also see some ships moving slowly in the sea. The sunrise is not possible to witness from the top as it covers with another mountain and inaccessible to sight. If you wait until dusk you will surely witness the gorgeous sunset which every traveler wants to see.
